This webinar will showcase the key features of the Energy Aware Runtime (EAR) software. It is tailored for users of high-performance computing data centers that utilize both HPC and AI applications. As part of the series of Energy Efficient Computing webinars organized by the EuroCC 2 project, this webinar is scheduled for 24 May 2024, from 14:00 to 15:00 CEST.
The energy management software EAR is currently in use in several European Data Centers including SuperMUC-NG at the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre, Snellius at the SURF, and MareNostrum 5 at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center. EAR provides services for system energy monitoring, job-level energy and performance monitoring, and energy optimization through a runtime library. Julita Corbalan from the Barcelona Supercomputing Centre will demonstrate how to characterize and optimize applications that represent common CPU-intensive, memory-intensive, and GPU use cases. During the webinar, Julita will show how to correlate application metrics with energy results, helping users understand their applications. The webinar will also include examples of EAR data visualization using Graphana and EAR job analytics tools.
