On 13 October 2023 at 11:00 CEST, the European Technology Platform for High-Performance Computing (ETP4HPC) will host a webinar featuring Anders Dam Jensen, Executive Director, and Daniel Opalka, Head of Research and Innovation, from the European High-Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU).
During the webinar, Anders will provide an introduction to the EuroHPC JU, which is a collaboration of the European Union, 33 European countries, and 3 private partners. The main goal of this collaboration is to establish a world-class supercomputing ecosystem in Europe. Anders will explain the JU's objectives, which include acquiring top-tier supercomputers throughout Europe and implementing an ambitious research and innovation program to support Europe's technological and digital autonomy. Additionally, he will highlight the progress the JU has made since its inception in 2018 in achieving these goals.
During the presentation, Daniel will showcase the EuroHPC JU's Research and Innovation program, which includes a portfolio of around 40 ongoing projects across various domains such as applications, hardware development, skills, competencies, and quantum computing. Additionally, he will introduce the EuroHPC JU's Work Program and discuss the strategic initiatives being undertaken to achieve their ambitious goal of making Europe a world leader in supercomputing.
