Last Wednesday, Marija Mitrovic Dankulov and Dusan Vudragovic from HPC Serbia attended the NextSilicon event at their office in Belgrade. NextSilicon is a deep-tech startup developing the next generation of Intelligent Compute Architecture (ICA) for high-performance computing (HPC). We were excited to finally collaborate with a fully HPC-focused industry partner in Serbia.

Recently, NextSilicon unveiled Maverick-2 ICA, an innovative software-defined hardware system. It continuously monitors workloads, identifies hot spots, and self-adjusts to boost performance and efficiency—without requiring developers to modify or port their code. The event mainly highlighted the significance of this cutting-edge new chip.

At this event, the company marked the launch of its new research and development center in Belgrade and announced plans to grow its engineering team by 50 additional employees by the end of 2026. With the new, expanded R&D center now up and running, the company is strengthening its presence in the local market and enhancing its development capabilities.

We received a warm reception from Jelena Erakovic, Director of Marketing, and Aleksandar Beric, VP of R&D at NextSilicon Serbia, along with Elad Raz, Founder & CEO, and Ilan Tayari, Co-Founder & VP of Architecture. They also provided us with an opportunity to present HPC Serbia’s key activities and challenges when engaging with industry, government, and academia in Serbia.

Following the event, the hosts spent additional time talking with us, enabling a deeper discussion of potential collaboration opportunities. These follow-up talks were vital for exploring new paths, strengthening partnerships, and identifying innovative projects. We also discussed the possibility of HPC Serbia users testing Maverick-2 ICA, which could lead to many new success stories featured on our website. So, stay tuned for further updates.
