The Luxembourg Supercomputing Competence Center will host a half-day online course introducing OpenACC for Heterogeneous Computing on 25 March 2025. The course will be divided into two parts: the first part will cover theoretical concepts, while the second part will focus on practical, hands-on challenges using the MeluXina supercomputer.

In this course, participants will explore GPU programming through the OpenACC programming model, focusing on key topics such as compute constructs, loop constructs, and data clauses. They will gain insights into GPU architecture and learn how to create and utilize parallel thread blocks for computational tasks, along with mastering memory management between the GPU and CPU while discussing best practices. The curriculum will also cover the acceleration of linear algebra routines and iterative solvers using OpenACC. The course combines theoretical lessons with hands-on sessions led by experienced mentors.
